ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 6+ in GCSE Geography
- If you did not study GCSE Geography you will need a Grade 6+ in GCSE English
- Interest in exploring and understanding Planet Earth and its processes
- You want to learn about great differences in cultures and natural environments across the world, and explore the links between them
FUTURE PROGRESSION
- A Level Geography is a facilitating subject which means it is more commonly required to access a range of degree courses at top Russell Group universities
- Geographers are highly employable due to the diverse nature of the skills covered in the course. The course may lead to careers in many areas including: education, environmental work, landscape architecture, surveying and urban planning.
WHAT WILL YOU STUDY?
At St. John’s we study the AQA Geography course, which comprises of:
Paper 1: Physical Geography
Water and Carbon Cycles
Glacial Systems and Landscapes
Hazards
Paper 2: Human Geography
Global Systems and Global Governance
Changing Places
Population and the Environment
Fieldwork:
Students complete four days of fieldwork and learn a range of practical, physical and human investigative techniques.
