Our Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) curriculum has been thoughtfully designed to meet the specific needs of our students in Sixth Form. Our thematic approach places the dignity of every student at the centre of their learning, supporting their spiritual, moral, social and physical development. The curriculum covers a range of non-academic issues that help our young people become informed, responsible citizens. The curriculum fulfils all current statutory requirements.
We are committed to delivering our curriculum in a way that reflects our Sixth Form's Catholic vision and ethos, as well as the needs of our young people. We continually review and refine our provision to ensure it remains relevant, supportive and rooted in Gospel values. Through strong pastoral care and thoughtful curriculum design, we aim to equip every student with the knowledge, skills and confidence to make positive, responsible choices as they grow.
Below is our RSHE Learning Journey, which outlines the full curriculum from Year 12 to Year 13. The Learning Journey shows the topics covered each half term and provides a clear overview of what students learn throughout Key Stage 5. More detailed information about each half term’s content is available by contacting our Head of Year 12 and 13.

Alongside our taught RSHE curriculum, we enrich students’ learning through a variety of speakers, workshops and specialist sessions throughout the year. We also support students as they prepare for their next steps after St John’s, whether that be further education or employment.
