On Wednesday, our GCSE and A-Level Music and Drama students from St John’s Sixth Form, Bishop Auckland, enjoyed an inspiring day at Teesside University, exploring what life is like as a Performing Arts student in Higher Education.
Drama: From Script to Screen
Drama students took part in a script-to-screen workshop, where they wrote their own scripts and then brought them to life on camera. This hands-on experience gave them a taste of the creative process behind film and theatre production.
Music: Sound and Film
Meanwhile, our Music students explored the fascinating relationship between sound and film. They spent the day:
- Recording dialogue and foley sounds
- Composing and performing an underscore
- Experimenting with techniques used in professional audio production

Campus Life Experience
No university experience day would be complete without a campus tour and lunch at the Student Union, giving students a real feel for university life.
A Huge Thank You
We’d like to extend our gratitude to Luke, Jess, Steve, Helen, and Ben at Teesside University for organising such a fantastic and inspiring event for our students.
