Last month, four of our Sixth Form students had the incredible opportunity to take part in the Lessons from Auschwitz project, travelling to Kraków, Poland. As part of this deeply meaningful initiative, they visited Auschwitz I and Auschwitz-Birkenau, two sites that stand as stark reminders of one of history’s darkest chapters.

The experience was described by our students as moving, eye-opening, and unforgettable. Walking through the grounds where so many lives were lost gave them a powerful insight into the importance of remembrance and education in preventing such atrocities from ever happening again.

Next term, these students will begin their ‘Next Steps Project’, where they will share what they have learned with the wider school community. Through presentations and discussions, they aim to ensure that the lessons of Auschwitz continue to resonate with others, fostering understanding, empathy, and a commitment to standing against prejudice and hatred.

We are incredibly proud of their maturity and dedication in taking part in this project and look forward to seeing the impact of their work within our school.
