The Jaquie Holloway Prize is an annual celebration of excellence in the Performing Arts at St John’s Sixth Form. Named in memory of Jaquie Holloway—former teacher and Performing Arts Coordinator at St John’s until her passing in 2019—the award honours her unwavering dedication to inspiring creativity, expression and opportunity for young people.
Jaquie Holloway was a passionate advocate for the arts. Throughout her time at St John’s, she created countless opportunities for students to engage in art, music, drama, dance, creative writing and wider cultural projects. The prize established in her name continues this legacy, encouraging students to strive for excellence and to share their artistic talents with confidence.
Celebrating Sixth Form Talent
Over the past four years, many of our Sixth Form students have taken part in the event, either as performers or enthusiastic audience members. This year, four talented Year 13 students competed for the 2026 Jaquie Holloway Prize:

Ezri Harmer (Year 13)
A founding member of the St John’s Chamber Choir, Ezri has played a vital role in the musical life of the school.
She will conclude her time at St John’s with her performance as Mushnik in our upcoming summer production of Little Shop of Horrors. Ezri shared that the Performing Arts Department has given her the confidence she needed.
Evan McGowan (Year 13)
Evan is studying A level Drama at St John’s and has been singing from an early age.
He describes performing as something he always returns to because it transports him outside of himself, offering a unique form of self-expression.
Charlie Proud (Year 13)
Charlie began learning the guitar in February 2025 as a way to explore his growing interest in music. He enjoys developing new skills and the challenge of mastering something unfamiliar. Taking part in this event has given him a platform to showcase his progress and passion.
Ruby Wilson (Year 13)
Ruby is an experienced member of Jack Drum Arts and has a deep enthusiasm for storytelling, performance and creativity. Recently, she has taken part in opportunities with the British Film Institute (BFI) in London, and her artwork has been proudly displayed in the Royal Academy’s Young Artists’ Summer Show.
Winner of the Jaquie Holloway Prize 2026
We are delighted to announce that Ruby Wilson has been voted the winner of the Jaquie Holloway Prize 2026. Her talent, dedication and creative achievements make her a truly deserving recipient of this prestigious award.
