At St John’s Sixth Form, our students are not only committed to their own success but also to supporting others - and our Year 12 Maths Mentor Scheme is a fantastic example of this in action.

Giving Back Through Maths

Ethan and Eason, both Year 12 students studying A Level Maths as part of our 4 Day Curriculum, are excelling in their studies and choosing to give something back to the school community. Each week, they volunteer their time to support Miss Somers’ Year 7 Maths class, helping younger students build confidence and develop their numeracy skills.

Inspiring Confidence and Curiosity

By working alongside both the teacher and pupils, Ethan and Eason play an important role in helping to ignite a passion for Maths. Their encouragement and support help make learning more accessible and engaging, allowing Year 7 students to see Maths come to life in the classroom.

Role Models in Action

As dedicated and enthusiastic mentors, Ethan and Eason are excellent role models for our younger students. They enjoy seeing the progress Year 7 pupils make and take pride in contributing to their development.

A Culture of Collaborative Learning

This initiative reflects the strong collaborative learning culture at St John’s, where students support and inspire one another to succeed.

Well done to Ethan and Eason for making such a positive impact - a brilliant example of leadership and service within our Sixth Form community.
