Last night, St John’s Sixth Form played a key role in an evening filled with festive spirit as the school hosted Christmas at the Movies — a performance event that brought the magic and nostalgia of Christmas cinema to life on stage. Featuring iconic references to seasonal favourites such as The Snowman, The Grinch, The Polar Express and Love Actually, the show took our sold‑out audience on a creative and heart-warming journey through the world of Christmas storytelling.
The quality of performance throughout the evening was exceptional. Our Orchestra, Choir, Chamber Choir, Handchime Ensemble, Little Shop of Horrors Cast, KS3 Drama Club, and a selection of impressive soloists delivered thoughtful, polished and engaging pieces that showcased the talent and dedication present across the whole school community — including our Sixth Form students, who contributed significantly to the professionalism and energy of the event.
A special thank you goes to Miss Bell, Miss Liddle, Mrs Rose and Miss Casewell for their creative direction and organisation. Their commitment to providing rich and meaningful opportunities in the Performing Arts continues to support and inspire students from Year 7 right through to Sixth Form.
Christmas at the Movies was a wonderful way to begin the festive season at St John’s Sixth Form — a celebration of creativity, collaboration and the joy of performance. A memorable evening for everyone involved.
